This historic route, also known as The Mother Road, was one of the first major east-west highways across the United States. Its western end was in Santa Monica on Santa Monica Boulevard at the beach.
Also known as Interstate 10, the Santa Monica Freeway travels in an east/west direction, from Los Angeles (east) to Santa Monica (west) and other communities in between. This is one of the most busiest roads in North America.
Highway 1 is a scenic road along much of the Pacific coast of California. It starts in the south near Dana Point and passes through many towns going north up to Leggett, California in Mendocino County. Highway 1 is also known as State Route 1 and certain parts are designated as either Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), the Cabrillo Highway, the Shoreline Highway, or the Coast Highway.
